Messiah is among the most popular works in Western choral music. The well-known “Hallelujah” chorus is part of Handel’s Messiah. Explore the most famous oratorio ever written as we study the biblical sources, historical background, and musical traditions of this beloved work.
This five-week Sunday Morning Adult Series will be led by John McIntyre
of The Baltimore Sun. At the end of the series, the group will have an
option of attending a live performance of Messiah by The Handel Choir
of Baltimore (8 pm Dec 13) or The Baltimore Choral Arts Society (7:30
pm Dec 19).
