Little Altars Everywhere?

Little Altars Everywhere?

“Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens,
and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28

Are you tired? I’m tired. For all that we try to slow down in the office for the summer, we’re all still kinda beat.

I subscribe to Nadia Bolz-Weber’s Substack blog The Corners. If you don’t already know about Nadia, I encourage you to look her up. She’s a Gen X, recovering addict, and Lutheran pastor extraordinaire. Anyway, this week her blog post was like cold water in a thirsty land, or good long nap after church with excellent dreams. It’s not that her words gave me a bunch of energy. Instead, they gave me permission to feel tired and remember that—for all my busy-ness—my business is relying on Jesus.

So this week, my ETimes lead is a recommendation to go read her post. Am I cheating? Probably. But if you’re tired like me, go look at what she has to say and let me know whether her vision of Holy Eucharist anywhere and everywhere doesn’t feel like rest to you.
